I’m writing to you on behalf of Norfolk Farm Leisure Limited, with regards to a proposed Wellness Resort at Ashwicken Lake, to invite you to meet the project team in a Covid secure environment on Thursday 17 December from 2-7 PM. We will be hosting the consultation on site, in a mobile consultation facility at Ashwicken Lake, Access off East Winch Road, close to Glosthorpe Manor (the approximate postcode is PE32 1NB).
Thank you to all those residents who have engaged with the consultation process to date, the feedback we’ve received has been valuable in helping us to begin to finalise our planning application. The purpose of the event you are invited to, is to give local residents the opportunity to find out how our carefully designed scheme has responded to your feedback and will enable you to ask us any questions you may still have about our proposals.

Please note that we may have to limit the time of the meetings in the interests of safety and to allow for as many people as possible to attend, we may also have to operate on a first come first serve basis.

Further to our last update, Alpaca Communications have gone ahead and set up an online meeting on the 3rd of September and are sending out a brochure to all parishioners. The website is https://wickenwater.com/.
Naturally, the Parish Council is disappointed that this has been set up before we could hold our Public Meeting but please send through your comments as per the form on their website and attend the online meeting if possible.
It is still hoped that we can hold a full Public Meeting when regulations allow.
Due to the current meeting restrictions, we are unable to give all parishioners the opportunity to appraise the proposed development in September as planned.
Regulations limit to a maximum of 30 people in a face to face meeting and we anticipate over 50 wanting to attend, also a number of parishioners do not have access to online, therefore a Zoom meeting is not suitable.
We are actively working to arrange a full Public Meeting and will advise you as soon as the regulations allow.
The Parish Council of Leziate & Ashwicken has received an EIA Scoping Report for a proposed Wellness Resort at Ashwicken Lake. As this is a significant development, we would welcome your comments regarding the proposal.
What is proposed
- Norfolk Farm Leisure Limited intends to apply for planning permission to construct and operate a Wellness Resort on 80ha of land (including Ashwicken Lake) at the former Wicken Quarry (see map below)
- Construction of 17 x two-story private houses
- 125-135 x single-storey accommodation units both static and floating
- 25 x single-story tree house accommodation units
Clubhouse on the water, Swimming pool, Spa, Reception, Multifunctional restaurant space, Boat taxi station for up to 5 water taxi, Boathouse.
Sewage treatment plant
- Car parking to accommodate 260 vehicles plus 10 spaces for staff
- The entrance to the site is located off East Winch Road indicated with the RED arrow
- The exit from the site is located opposite Wicken Lodge at Glosthorpe Manor indicated with BLUE arrow
